Our Program

Infant 6weeks - 17months
Exploring Minds Learning Center has created a safe, healthy and well balanced environment to enhance each child’s individual needs. Our infant classrooms are designed to begin working on the six developmental domains that are at the center of school and life success. These six domains are physical health, emotional development, social development, motor development, language and communication development, and cognitive development.
We will promote growth in each of these domains by implementing developmentally appropriate and engaging activities for our infants. Our infant program will focus on creating a nurturing learning environment where a child can feel safe and secure. Each child receives individualize care from one of our 2 primary caregivers to make sure that we can provide the maximum amount of attention to each individual child. We believe it is very important to begin developing language at an early age. In our infant room we will foster your child’s language by loving and communicating with them while caring for them.

Toddlers (18months-35months)
In our toddler classrooms we encourage each child to learn how to make choices. We have designed the classrooms in such a way that each child can learn on an individual basis by choosing a center to engage in. In the toddler classrooms we will continue to focus on the six developmental domains. We will develop these domains by implementing age appropriate activities in the following areas: language arts, math/cognitive, science/sensory, art, motor skills, and music and movement.
Our staff will implement lesson plans that will increase their developing skills in a variety of age appropriate activities. Each morning and afternoon the children will participate in group time. In which they will work on recognizing shapes, colors, numbers, and letters. They will also introduce the calendar and weather elements.
In addition, we will encourage healthy social interactions by making sure each child is aware of their friends feeling and helping them to engage in constructive play with other children. The children will be exploring the outside world with outside play time, both in the morning and afternoon (weather permitting). The children will enjoy a wonderful playground with age appropriate equipment where they can climb, run, and ride bikes. The toddler’s classroom is designed with the child in mind. The Early Toddler classroom places a large emphasis on curriculum, as well as potty training. Our staff will work with your child’s individual needs to become fully potty trained if they are not already. We have developed a system that is sure to make potty training a rewarding experience for both parent and child.

Combine Early Preschool and Prekindergarten 3 and 4 year old
Teachers will begin largely focusing on the children’s fine motor skills. The children will learn the correct way to hold and handle a pencil, use scissors to cut a straight line, and tracing letters and numbers.
Our staff will implement lesson plans that will focus on language arts, math/cognitive, science/sensory, art, motor skills, and music and movement. The children will be required to master the recognition of all shapes and colors before entering the preschool classroom. Along with mastering the recognition of shapes and colors they will be working on continuing to recognize letters, numbers, their name in print, and their friends’ names in print.
Our wonderful staff will assist your child in letter recognition, number recognition, one to one correspondence, patterning, early writing skills, and more. The children will participate in teacher facilitated lessons such as circle time, reading, writing, and math activities. The children will also be encouraged to explore the classroom centers which are strategically placed with learning toys that will encourage them to learn on an individual level through play.
We will begin exploring the world of technology by introducing computers into the classrooms, engaging children through interactive games and software with an educational purpose. The children will be exploring the outside world with outside play time, both in the morning and afternoon (weather permitting). The children will enjoy a wonderful playground with age appropriate equipment where they can climb, run, and ride bikes on the bike track.

The Prekindergarten
The classroom will focus on content areas that the children will need to be familiar with when entering Kindergarten. Some of the many areas the class will be concentrating on are: beginning reading skills, mastering letter recognition, phonics, and the introduction of sight words.
They will also begin focusing on mathematical skills such as patterning, graphing, mastering number recognition, and understanding numbers 0-30. The classroom uses the early learning content standards created by each state as a curriculum guide to introduce subjects such as language arts, science, social studies, math, and writing.

School Age 5-12 years (Blue Room)
School-age children will experience a very open-ended curriculum. The children will assist the teachers in planning activities for when they are not in school, such as summer and holiday breaks.
On a daily basis when the children are not in school they will be provided with materials and teacher support to assist them with their homework and allow them to engage in age appropriate activities with their friends.
